There are so many uses for an accordion file. Of course, we all know they can hold your bills or file papers.  However, the come in a variety of sizes and pockets and can have multiple purposes around the house.  Here are my 3 favorite uses for the accordion file:

  1. Keep an accordion file handy in the kitchen to store recipes.  You can label the different tabs for the courses such as Appetizers, Entrees, Meats, Soups, Salads, Desserts, Healthy Recipes, 30 min meals, etc. This will always ensure easy access to your favorite recipes without having to sift through a ton of books or loose leaf papers
  2. Place receipts, instruction manuals and warranty info for your major appliances and other large or costly purchases. You can keep this file in your office, garage or laundry room to always have easy access to these important but rarely accessed documents. Keeping all of them in a centralized location ensures you will know exactly where to find them in case something ever needs repair or replacement.
  3. To better organize your glove compartment, you can use a letter size file to store your registration, car insurance, maps, manual and other documents you may want to keep handy in your vehicle. The smaller accordion files are a perfect fit for your car.

Of course there are many other uses for these nifty little organizers. As their popularity grows, so do their appearance.  If you are the traditional type and you like your office supplies in brown or manila, these are easy to locate at your nearest office supply store. However, if you love bold colors and prints, you can also find these locally. They are available in both plastic and paper forms and range from $2 – $20 depending on the brand, size and décor.
