So let’s start the month by dispelling 3 myths about organization

  1. Being organized means being neat or clean: MYTH

Although being better organized can help lead to a neater or cleaner environment, the outward appearance of neatness can be a facade. What matters most about being organized is being able to find what you need when you need it AND being able to get things done on time…preferably without pulling your hair out, having a meltdown or paying extra fees, etc.

  1. Being organized takes up too much time: MYTH

I won’t lie to you. The reality is that it can take some initial work and time to get your systems in place. However, the benefits are enormous.  People who are disorganized actually lose more time and waste more money than people who are organized. Don’t believe me?  Read this.  Without organization, you will undoubtedly face unforeseen hurdles that will slow you down and you will not be prepared for. Something will always come up to stop you from what you set out to accomplish. Organized people are able to accomplish more in less time consistently.

  1. Being organized is something you are born with: MYTH

Just like anything else in life, being or staying organized can come easier for some than others, but anyone (minus those who may have an actual impediment) can master basic organization systems. It all comes down to the decisions you make for your life.  Knowing that keeping a system can save you time, money and headaches is one thing, but deciding to invest in building the habits needed to relieve yourself of such aliments is totally up to you!

Knowing these myths, we hope you dedicate this time to learning some basic systems to help you achieve more, save more and have a less stressed 2016!
